Copyright Documentary Film

There is a really fine line between what is legal or illegal in copyright. Using samples or downloading  songs could get you being sued; however, if it's in the public domain, it's fine for you to use. This, actually, made me think a lot about the difficulties that artist, musicians or film makers have to deal with in order to make arts. Copyright is a way for businesses to make money, not the artists who are actually owned the right for their products. In my opinion, I don't think it's fair to make piracy to this extreme; however, the laws still need to be there to protect the artists because they deserve the right to own their ideas. As I see it, the artists never ask for their copyright when it's involved, elevated. It's the companies where the artists sold their products that is using the laws to make money out of it.

Logo Design

          The idea for my logo started when I was exploring shapes in Illustrator and watching my baby dance in our living room. The star is the shape that I like most. When I move the angles around and saw that it looked like it is dancing, I thought why not making the stars dancing like a human. Then I filled the inside of the stars with the symbol font which saying: "Dancing with the stars". The color of the stars is to bring the brightness, just like the stars is shining in the sky. The color of font is my favorite color which, I think, bring out comfortable and elegant.

A Brief History of Type

          The differences in fonts can make a huge different on how the readers react to your articles. However, choosing font is also a personal reference. For me, I like the hand-written font rather than the modern font. Some modern font is quite beautiful; however, the hand-written fonts give me the feeling of elegant and royal that I like better. Moreover, the article also shows me that creating a font takes a lot of time, and a little change could make the font different from another.

Reading Assignment-Chapter 1 and 2

The author, Margaret Mason, has a really interesting way to write the book "No One Cares What You Had for Lunch: 100 Ideas for Your Blog" by making it looks like she is writing on her blog. Not only you can learn the ideas to write a good blog, but you can also see her example on how to make the blog more attractive. Another thing that I found helpful when reading these first two chapter is that it is like a guideline for beginner blogger. Since this is the first time I actually blog, it is really helpful to give me some ideas for what I could write or post on my blog.

My name is Linh Le. I'm currently studying in Nursing major. My hobbies are listening to musics, playing with my daughter, Ruby, and taking pictures of her. The first picture is taken recently during our vacation in California. Ruby was sitting in front of a big fish tank inside the Aquarium of the Pacific and enjoying her juice box. The second picture was taken on Christmas Eve last year. She dressed up to be a princess and was dancing around when I took that picture. The last picture is the first time Ruby posed in front of the camera. Then I edited it with some effect to make it my Facebook's cover.
